We offer a variety of volunteer positions that range from helping on site at a WACOG office to volunteering in the community with Head Start of Wellness Programs. As a volunteer, you are contributing towards improving quality of life for those we serve. List of Volunteer Positions and Brief Description
ombudsman volunteer
Ombudsman Volunteers visit licensed nursing facilities and assisting living facilities to establish relationships with staff and residents. Ombudsman Volunteers are available to resolve problems by responding with advocacy for dignity and rights.
state health insurance program (ship) volunteer
SHIP Volunteers provide information, counseling and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries, their families and caregivers on Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medigap, Appeals and many more topics on Medicare.
northern arizona university and AmeriCorps seniors volunteers
Foster Grandparent Volunteers provide support in the classroom, assisting WACOG’s Head Start children with activities and provide tutoring support in small groups.
Senior Companion Volunteers provide companionship to older adults with limited activities of daily living who need assistance maintaining independence.
AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers receive a small, tax-free hourly stipend (that will not affect governmental benefits) and transportation reimbursement (dependent on budget) for their contributions.
